Photo Gallery | University Theatre Closes Season With Shakespeare's 'The Two Gentlemen Of Verona'
The University of Wisconsin-Madison's University Theatre will bid farewell to its current with a production of Shakespeare’s "The Two Gentlemen of Verona."
Theatre perennial favorite Kenneth Albers will direct the production, which opens on April 20 and plays through May 5 in the Mitchell Theatre.
One of The Bard’s earliest forays into the world of comedy, The Two Gentlemen of Verona takes a humorous look at what happens when two friends fall for the same woman. When pals Valentine and Proteus square off as romantic rivals, they prove themselves to be “gentlemen” in name only, embarking on a series of romantic misadventures that test their own ties that bind against their hearts’ desires.
Individual tickets for all performances are $22 general public or $15 for UW students. Purchase tickets by phone at 608-265- ARTS (2787), in person at the Vilas Hall Box Office, 821 University Ave., the Wisconsin Union Box Office, 800 Langdon St., or order online at www.utmadison.com.
