$1,000 Found On Bus Returned To Rightful Owner | News
A man who left $1,000 in cash on a Madison Metro bus got his money back thanks to an honest Madison Metro bus driver.
Madison police said the driver pulled over along the 300 block of West Gorham Street to do a quick sweep of the bus to make sure it was clean. During the check, the driver found a bank envelope with a large amount of money inside, police said.
The driver turned the money over to police. The next day, a man called Madison Metro and said he lost the money. They said he was able to identify the amount, and the bank from which it was withdrawn.
An officer checked with members of the Dane County Narcotics & Gang Task Force to make sure the owner of the cash was not on their radar. He was not, and his $1,000 was returned, police said.
