2 downtown roads to be closed Monday, Wednesday | News
Two downtown roads will be closed for construction crews this week, according to a release.
The 300 block of West Dayton Street will be closed Monday for JH Findorff and other subcontractors to put up a crane adjacent to Madison Fire Station No. 1, officials said.
The closure will be between West Dayton and North Henry streets from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the release.
Local vehicle access to residences and the Overture Center Parking Garage will be maintained from the west at all times, officials said. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained on the south side of West Dayton Street and to all residences during the closure.
On Wednesday the 400 block of West Gilman Street will be closed for JH Findorff and subcontractors to pour concrete for the HUB Development, according to the release.
The closure will be between University Avenue and State Street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., officials said.
During the closure two-way traffic from North Broom Street to residences and businesses on the east end of the 400 block of West Gilman Street will be open, according to the release. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained to all residences and businesses during the closure.
Officials encourage motorists and bicyclists to use alternate routes both days to avoid delays.
