Many parking ramps full downtown; city offers alternatives | Events

Shuttle from Alliant Energy Center offered   

City of Madison Parking Ramps near the Kohl Center were full or nearly full Friday due to the WIAA 2013 Boys State Basketball Championships, according to the city parking division. In a news release, the department said the ramps are expected to remain near capacity until about 5 p.m. Friday. 

According to figures updated on the Madison Parking Utility website, the Capitol Square North Garage at 218 E. Mifflin St. and Government East Garage at 215 S. Pinckney St. had the most availability with more than 150 stalls open in each.

Officials also said a shuttle is available from the Alliant Energy Center. Details of the shuttle can be found on the WIAA’s website.

Use of the shuttle or alternate parking ramps is recommended for the Friday afternoon games, according to the news release.
