Grammy Award winner and education advocate John Legend will be part of a two-day Madison event focused on the future of education in the Madison area.
The Educate to Elevate education forum and innovation summit is organized by the Urban League of Greater Madison.
The organization said events scheduled Thursday and Friday "will provide opportunities for inspiration and action in better serving the children of our community with world-class schools."
The event starts with a VIP luncheon and education forum at the Alliant Energy Center and features John Legend and Geoffrey Canada, founder of the Harlem Children's Zone.
The Education Innovation Summit on Friday will be held at Monona Terrace and includes keynotes from Howard L. Fuller, founder and director of the Institute for the Transformation of Learning at Marquette University and former superintendent of Milwaukee Public Schools and Patrick Murphy, superintendent of the Arlington, Va., Public Schools.
