Ovarian Cancer Alliance hosts free community event | Events
As Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, the Wisconsin Ovarian Cancer Alliance will celebrate with a free community event Sunday.
“Afternoon Delights” features a one woman show about cancer survival performed by Madison native Laura Clark Hansen. Her performance is entitled “Please Send Hats” and chronicles her experiences with living with cancer through comedy and heartfelt stories, said a press release.
The Wisconsin Ovarian Cancer Alliance said that the disease is now referred to as “the disease that whispers.” Four symptom categories occur in women with ovarian cancer including bloating and gas, eating difficulties or feeling full quickly, abdominal or pelvic pain or discomfort and urinary symptoms of urgency or frequency.
The event will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church located at 203 Wisconsin Ave. Seating is limited so call 608-630-8205 to reserve a space.
