Union South To Host 1st Birthday Party | Events

Hard to believe it’s already a year, but Union South opened in April 2011 after two years of construction.  

Everyone's invited to celebrate Union South’s first birthday on Monday, April 16 from noon to 3 p.m., featuring food, music, giveaways and announcing the commemorative items chosen for the Time Capsule.

Events/Attractions for Union South’s 1st Birthday Celebration:

• DJ Music (12-1 pm on the Plaza)
• Bring your camera for photos with Bucky Badger by the big green Terrace Chair!  (12-1 pm on the Plaza)
• Free hotdog or veggie dog to the first 1000 people to present a valid UW ID or Union Membership card (starts at 12 pm on the Plaza while supplies last)
• Free birthday cupcake to the first 1000 people to present a valid UW ID or Union Membership card (starts at 12 pm on the Plaza while supplies last)
• Free Marquee Munchies Popcorn to patrons presenting a valid UW ID or Union Membership card (12-2 pm at Badger Market)
• Free buttons, bubbles and beads (while supplies last)!
• See what Union South Time Capsule suggestions make the final cut at the Time Capsule Celebration (1 pm, on the Plaza)
• Check out the newest works of tile art the Prairie Fire Coffeehouse and celebrate them at the Indigenous Tile Project Celebration Reception (2-3 pm in the Gallery 1308/Prairie Fire lounge)
