Madison School Board Gives Superintendent Bad Grade

The Madison Metropolitan School District Board of Education barely gave the head of the district a passing grade.

An open records request shows school board members gave district Superintendent Dan Neard a barely proficient grade on a recent review.

The board rated Nerad in nine different categories. The ratings are similar to how students are scored on state standardized tests: minimal, basic, proficient and distinguished.

Nerad's contract with the district could expire in June 2013.
