UW Carbone Cancer Center To Host Fundraising Walk | Community Spirit

The UW Carbone Cancer Center on Saturday, August 6, 2011 for the first annual, "Walk Away From Cancer," a three-mile walk through the beautiful University of Wisconsin grounds.

Cancer touches all of our lives. Help make a difference by raising additional funds to support cancer research at the UW Carbone Cancer Center.

The individual raising the most money will raise a pair of coach certificates valid for travel in the continental United States on AirTran Airways.

Registration is $30 in advance and $35 on the day of the race.

The walk will continue rain or shine, please be prepared for the weather.

• 7:30 a.m.: Registration opens; refreshments and visit with Cancer Center staff
• 8:45 a.m.: Welcome
• 9 a.m.: 3-mile walk starts and proceeds through UW-Madison campus
• 10:30 a.m.: Post-walk celebration with refreshments, including live music from the UW Marching Band
