Badger Bash celebrates football opener | Community Spirit
Badger Bash will kick off its 40th season Saturday before the 2:30 p.m. football game.
The public tailgating party begins at 11 a.m. on Sept. 1 at Union South, located at the corner of Dayton Street and Randall Street.
Each Badger Bash features special events and activities, said a press release. The first bash features Alumni Band Day and includes an Alumni Band performance, announcements about the UW Marching Band Hall of Fame, and a historical band exhibit.
Mike Leckrone and the UW Marching Band will perform. Bucky Badger will be on-site, as well as grilled food and cold beverages.
Face and hair painting will be available at The Orchard in Union South. In The Sett, the pre-game show will be broadcast.
After the game, the UW sixth quarter will begin back at Union South. Food, music and movies will be available throughout the afternoon and evening.
The Sept. 1 football opener is between the University of Wisconsin-Madison Badgers and the Northern Iowa Panthers.
A Badger Bash is hosted before each home football game.
