Wisconsin Union Galleries To Unveil Summer Exhibition | Arts & Culture
Title (Max 100 Characters)
The first summer exhibit at Gallery 1308 in Union South is "Hide and Seek" by Laura Kim.
The opening reception is on Friday, June 10 at 7 p.m. .
Through videos and performances both presented and out of the screen, Kim has been exploring issues regarding cross-cultural identity and exposing alienation that resonates from a sense of dislocation.
Kim is currently interested in experimental and transcendent borderlines, boundaries and spaces. "Hide and Seek" explores and observes decontextualized actions and monodramas referenced from popular culture and media representation.
The gallery is located on the first floor of Union South at 800 Langdon Street. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. For more information, go to www.union.wisc.edu/art.
More than 1,300 works comprise the Wisconsin Union Art Collection, one of the state’s largest collections of original Wisconsin art. The collection is always on view in the hallways, offices, and meeting rooms throughout the Memorial Union and Union South.
