Additional Information
Expertise
When Kent Rawhouser founded A&J Specialty Services, his goal was to build a full-service cleaning, restoration and mold remediation company team that was more than just a cleanup crew.
Kent is one of only 60 people worldwide to have been certified as a Water Loss Specialist by the Restoration Industry Association (RIA). He is also one of just 25 to hold the Certified Mold Professional designation, also through the RIA. In addition, A&J is a Wisconsin DHS Certified Lead-Safe Company.
Kent established an on-going training and certification program for all of A&J's people, inside and in the field. This allows them to evaluate each loss and bring to bear the specialized training and expertise required to properly and safely mitigate the damage.
And, unlike many restoration contractors, A&J services are based solely on the standards established by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), ensuring you get not just correct standard of care, but a higher standard than most other contractors deliver.
Professionalism
Expertise is meaningless without the professionalism required to deliver it well. A&J responds quickly and completes losses as fast as possible, while adhering to operational standards.
All calls, no matter the day or the time, are answered live by a fully-trained A&J team member, not by an answering service. Our trucks are loaded and ready to go for the fastest possible response time. In many cases, we're on the site within two hours.
We maintain regular communications with all involved parties, so everyone knows job status. In addition, we provide comprehensive documentation, providing justifications for all our actions to provide total claim accountability.
Helping the policyholder through the trying time of loss and recover is as important to us as the actual restoration. So our people are there for the policyholder as well as the site. We listen and help, and provide any and all information needed to understand the restoration process and make the experience a little easier to endure.
Transparency
The critical element missing in most insurer-contractor and customer-contractor relationships is trust. This lack of trust often results in an adversarial relationship which can prevent both parties from delivering the level of service the policyholder deserves and needs. To help establish this trust, A&J provides the insurer and the policyholder with total claim accountability that explains and justifies all actions taken.
A&J provides comprehensive documentation for every claim. This offers the adjuster, as well as the policyholder, on-demand access to see and understand every action that has been taken on a claim. The system enables A&J to provide the justifications for those actions, which the insurer then validates and agrees to, providing full transparency in the restoration process.
This approach also gives the insurer a greater degree of control, eliminating surprises and the questions about costs that can result. This in turn allows the claim to be closed faster.
Water Damage
There are three different types of water damage and each type must be restored appropriately. If losses are not properly treated according to the type of water loss, significant additional property damage such as mold, structural deterioration and a variety of health hazards can occur.
Sewer Damage
The very worst type of water damage is sewer or “black water” flooding. Black water floods come from sewer back-ups, septic backflows, broken waste pipes, toilet overflows and river or lake floods.
Fire Restoration
Any fire loss is a traumatic event that can leave building occupants bewildered, stressed and not sure which way to turn. A&J understands the emotional component of fire damage and our team delivers compassionate and caring service, and will walk you through the entire process of getting life back to normal.
All fire losses also represent a wide variety of technical challenges depending on a number of variables. A&J is highly technically focused and has the experience and expertise to solve the many restoration challenges posed by a typical fire.
Mold Remediation
When buildings get wet, the mold spores that are always present in the air, indoors and out, land on wet surfaces and mold starts growing, creating a serious health hazard for building occupants.
Moisture problems are the result of three types of water intrusions:
- Emergency water damage from floods, broken pipes, failed appliances, etc.
- On-going and unnoticed leaks from pipes, roofs or around doors and windows.
- Building design issues that cause high humidity levels that can support mold growth.
